Home to the biggest dam mural in the world, an expansive outdoor gallery of murals and an impressive art gallery, Collie is certainly a visual treat.
A trip to Collie is not complete without visiting the mega mural on the wall at Wellington National Park. Guido van Helten’s 8,000 square metre mega-mural on the Wellington Dam wall is inspired by local stories and photographs. You’ll find more art at the lookout at Wellington National Park, either end of the Suspension Bridge on Scenic Drive, and on walls throughout the town of Collie, showcasing the talents of more than 30 Australian artists, including many C0llie locals.
Collie is home to the only purpose-built A-class gallery outside of the WA Art Gallery in Perth.
This fabulous gallery has hosted many significant exhibitions since it opened in 2015 and offers a diverse range of workshops and development programs suitable for artists at all levels, from primary-school-aged children right through to seniors, absolute beginners to experienced artists.
Exhibitions are rotated regularly, so be sure to check the website and make sure you don’t miss out!
The gallery also offers a unique range of mainly hand-made crafts and artwork by local artisans for sale in the gallery’s gift shop.
