FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

RECEPTION

We work hard to keep our costs down, so our reception is not manned 24-7, however, the owners, caretaker, and staff are often around the property if you need help.

If you have any issues, please ring the number on the sign in the camp kitchen, and we'll attempt to resolve as quickly as possible.

Additional Guests

There are occupancy limits of 2 adults and 4 children per site with the first four included in the $60 site price, and $15 per additional guest up to the occupancy limit.

Please book the required number of sites for each stay.

Checking in

Check-in is from 12pm. Earlier check-ins may be permitted subject to availability.

You will have received a booking confirmation via email (check your junk mail if you don't see it).

If we are around when you arrive, we'll be very happy to give you the guided tour.

For guests who may arrive outside of our usual business hours, please email reception@collietrailretreat.com.au so we can send you your reserved site information.

Checking out

Check out is 10am on the day of departure. Late check-out may be possible upon request, subject to availability.

Parking

Parking is available for one vehicle on each site. Please keep all driveways clear.

Visitors' parking is just outside the front gate.

Please refrain from parking in other sites' parking spaces.

Internet and phone access

There is limited phone or internet access on site, the camp kitchen seems to have the best reception.

The service may not be great in bad weather or times of high usage, which is entirely out of our control.

Laundry

There is a laundry trough inside next to the front door.

Bathrooms

There are shared bathroom facilities, including three unisex showers, three unisex toilets and a disabled toilet/shower for all to share.

Firepits

**** PROHIBITED BURNING SEASON 1 DECEMBER TO 15 MARCH *****

We have great outdoor firepits available that you can enjoy during the cooler months. You can bring your own wood or bags of wood will be for sale by calling the caretaker once your booking is finalized.

The firepit is not available during a prohibited burning period (generally 1 December to 15 March), or as prescribed by the local government, or on any declared total fire ban day.

Management reserves the right to prohibit the use of the fire for any reason.

Bikes

We are bike-friendly, we are in the process of setting up more, bike racks around the property, cleaning gear, basic toolkit and pump available for your use.

Pets

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets of any description.

Smoking

The camp kitchen, toilet-shower block, and within 6m from this building are smoke-free zones.

Please consider the comfort of your fellow guests.

We reserve the right to eject guests without notice and/or charge an additional fee if house rules or not adhered to.

 

After hours

All music is to be kept to a suitable level at all times as to NOT disturb fellow campers and to be switched off after 10pm,

The main light to the showers-toilet blocked will be turned off at 10pm. Please try to have your showers and cooking finished before then for your and others' comfort.

Please ensure you leave all doors closed once finished.

Universal Access

The farm and campsites are on hilly land but sites 10 to 15 are on a similar level as the male toilet-shower block. Please contact us prior to booking if you have any doubts about our ability to service your needs.

Sustainability

We are conscious of our impact on the environment and our local and global community.

We encourage guests to limit the length of showers and reduce power consumption wherever possible.

We use reusable products where it is safe and sanitary to do so. Our consumable toiletries are sourced from a social enterprise committed to reducing global poverty.

We encourage recycling rather than waste with the provision of recycling bins around the property and a cash-for-containers collection point that collects funds for local not-for-profit organizations.

If you have any other ideas, we can employ to reduce our impact, we'd be happy to hear them.

Cancellations

We understand that sometimes things pop up that are out of your control.

We are happy to change dates for bookings, subject to availability, so long as arrangements are made at least 48 hours prior to check-in. Please provide as much notice as possible.

If cancellation notice is provided at least a week before your original booking check-in, we will provide a refund minus a fee to cover administration and bank fees of 2% (minimum $25).

An 85% refund is provided for cancellations less than one week, but up to 48 hours notice prior to check-in time.

No refund is provided if cancellation is within 48 hours of the check-in time.
